The following is a statement from the Communist Party of Honduras

The Communist Party of Honduras expresses solidarity with the people of Palestine and their legitimate resistance, which, on October 6, carried out actions in response to the growing policy of settlements and displacement that Israel has been implementing in Palestinian territory.

Despite the efforts of major corporate media to portray this as nothing more than a terrorist act, these events are the outcome of over a century of domination and occupation that the State of Israel has imposed on the Palestinian population, under the passive gaze of the international community.

We believe that Palestine is within its legitimate right to defend itself and to strive for the establishment of an independent state.

We believe that peace is the highest aspiration of humanity, upon which development is built. Therefore, we advocate for the pursuit of peaceful solutions that begin with dismantling Israel’s colonialist policy and the dispossession of the Palestinian people from their lands. A peace that should be based on the creation of two states, one of which should allow the Palestinian people to exercise their self-determination and sovereignty freely, respecting the borders prior to 1967.

The PCH calls for peace and the search for a solution through negotiations to avoid further escalation of a conflict that has already cost the lives of thousands of people.

El Partido Comunista de Honduras se solidariza con el pueblo de Palestina y su legítima resistencia que, el día 06 de octubre realizó acciones en respuesta a la creciente política de asentamientos y de desplazamiento que Israel ha venido aplicando en territorio Palestino.

A pesar de que, los grandes medios corporativos, tratan de hacer pasar esta noticia como producto de un acto terrorista, estos sucesos son el resultado de más de un siglo de dominación y ocupación que el Estado de Israel impone a la población de Palestina, bajo la mirada inerte de la comunidad internacional.

Creemos que Palestina está en su legítimo derecho de defenderse y en su lucha por constituir un Estado Independiente.

Creemos que la paz es el anhelo máximo de la humanidad y sobre la cual se erige el desarrollo, por ello apostamos a la búsqueda de soluciones pacíficas que comiencen por el desmontaje de la política colonialista de Israel y del despojo del pueblo palestino de sus tierras. Una paz que debe basarse en la creación de dos estados, uno de los cuales debe permitir al pueblo palestino ejercer su autodeterminación y soberanía de manera libre, respetando las fronteras anteriores a 1967.

El PCH hace un llamado a la paz y a la búsqueda de una solución por la vía de la negociación que evite una mayor escalada de un conflicto que ya ha costado la vida a miles de personas.
