The International Department of the Communist Party, USA extends its deepest condolences to the leadership and membership of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on the death of the late General Secretary of your Party, Comrade Sitaram Yechury.

Comrade Yechury devoted his life to the struggle for socialism, for international working-class solidarity, for peace and progress. A staunch Marxist-Leninist from his earliest years, he was a brilliant student, exceptionally capable organizer, and outstanding leader who had been a member of your Party for 49 years at the time of his passing.

We join with you in mourning the loss of Comrade Yechury, and we are confident that your Party will continue the legacy of your late General Secretary in organizing for a brighter future for the peoples of India.
