Letter to the Workers Party of Ireland in Honor of their Party’s Annual Conference

A chara

Comrades, we are pleased to see that you will once again be able to have your annual conference. We‘d like to offer our condolences for the Irish people in both the Republic of Ireland and the occupied 6 counties who have died due to Covid-19. The past year and a half have been hard for all of the workers of the world. The Communist Party USA (CPUSA) stands in special solidarity with the Irish working class.  The American working class has always supported the Irish liberation struggle; from the Fenian Raids, to the Easter Rising, to the worst of the troubles, helping the families of Republican prisoners through NORAID.

The Workers Party of Ireland (WPI) has been on the frontlines in the fight against austerity, sectarianism, and the triple lock of US, EU, and British Imperialism. Even during the pandemic, the Workers Party of Ireland has been active in the fight for the Irish working class. Both from the halls of government through your elected officials, in the streets and in the communities. We applaud your fight for public housing, both in the south and in the north. We wish you success in your upcoming annual conference. The starry plough has always and will always be an inspiration to not just the Irish working class, but to the workers of the world. “The cause of labour is the cause of Ireland, the cause of Ireland is the cause of labour.”

Le gach dea-ghuí

Long Live Communist Internationalism!

Long live the fraternal and comradely relationship between CPUSA and the WPI!
